Privacy Policy

1. About this policy

This policy explains how Exchange: Currency Converter+ (“Exchange,” “we,” or “us”) handles information in the iPhone app, its widgets, this website, and support correspondence. For privacy questions, contact contact@cvbuilderkit.app.

2. Information on your device

Conversion amounts and results, saved calculations (including currencies, rates, and dates), preferred currencies, Trio target selections, theme settings, and currency-use counts are processed or stored locally. Currency-use counts help order your frequently used currencies. These records are not sent to our rates service.

The app and its widgets share selected currency pairs, calculator state, and stored exchange rates through local app storage. Exchange does not provide an account or its own cloud synchronization for your calculations. Your device’s backup settings may separately control whether local app data is included in a device backup.

3. Clipboard access

Exchange receives clipboard text when you choose the system paste control. It may use iOS pattern detection to check whether a number is available without reading the clipboard’s text. Pasted amounts are processed locally and are not uploaded to us.

4. Rate downloads and app security

When online rate refresh is available, the app contacts our backend over HTTPS. Requests include an app-generated Apple App Attest key identifier, cryptographic verification data, temporary challenges, and information identifying the cached rate version. The backend stores the public verification key, security counters, enrollment state, and temporary request-limit records to verify genuine app requests and prevent abuse. These identifiers are not advertising identifiers.

Network infrastructure necessarily processes connection information such as IP addresses. The backend uses a hash of its connecting peer’s address for short-lived rate limiting; when a proxy is used, that peer may be the proxy. Hosting and network providers may also process request metadata to deliver and protect the service. Operational error logs include request identifiers and error categories. The app does not send your conversion amounts or saved calculations with rate requests.

5. Service providers and sharing

Apple processes information needed for App Attest and App Store services under its own policies. Our hosting and network providers process information needed to operate the website and rates backend. Exchange rates are retrieved by our backend from ExchangeRate-API; your saved calculations and conversion inputs are not forwarded to the rate provider.

We do not sell personal information, use advertising trackers, or use your calculations for advertising. We may disclose information when required by applicable law or when necessary to protect the security and legal rights of users and the service.

6. This website and support

This website does not set analytics or advertising cookies, use browser storage, or load third-party analytics. Its hosting provider may process IP addresses and basic request information to serve pages and prevent abuse.

If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message, such as device details or screenshots. We use this information to respond and resolve your request. Please avoid sending sensitive financial information.

7. Retention and deletion

Saved calculations remain on your device until you delete them in the app or remove the app’s data. Removing the app does not necessarily remove device backups or security items retained by iOS in the Keychain.

Temporary backend challenges and request-limit records expire and are removed by scheduled cleanup. Verification keys and replay-protection counters are retained without automatic expiry to preserve service security; deleting the app does not automatically delete these server records. Support correspondence is retained as needed to address the request and meet applicable legal obligations. Infrastructure logs follow the hosting provider’s retention settings.

You may contact us to request access to or deletion of information we hold about you. Because there is no user account, we may need additional information to locate a record and verify your request. We cannot retrieve calculations stored only on your device.

8. Your choices and rights

You can use stored rates offline, delete saved calculations, and manage device backup and Background App Refresh settings in iOS. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to the processing of personal information, or to complain to a local data protection authority. Contact us to exercise these rights.

9. Children and changes

Exchange does not require age or profile information and does not knowingly collect children’s personal information through an account or advertising system. If you believe a child has provided personal information in a support message, contact us.

We may update this policy as the app or service changes. The date above identifies the latest revision. Material changes will be communicated where required.
